Wetland Health Assessment Program
Salem Sound Coastwatch, (another LGC within the Massachusetts Bays Program) and 8T&B are training volunteers to evaluate multiple wetland indicators in addition to water quality (such as bird life, surrounding land use, and tidal flow) in order to assess the overall ecological health of a number of North Shore wetland sites. Data gathered from this assessment will be used to prioritize wetland restoration projects. In addition the information will establish baseline data to determine changes to the marsh as a result of increased tidal flow.
